Currently

Colby Ward is a Software Development Manager at Amazon, currently owning the Customer Experience for Amazon Exports. Amazon International Shopping mode (AIS) is his latest endeavor, growing far beyond its humble origins to a global framework serving a personalized, localized, and unique experience for Amazon’s cross-border customers across marketplaces. Colby joined Amazon as Search & Discovery lead for Amazon Expansions. He is most proud of building Search for Amazon Australia and Amazon Singapore marketplace launches, prior to joining Exports.

Colby’s passion is technology, with a talent for crafting architecture and software that solves a critical need or drives business growth. He enjoys writing about tech, occasionally speaking, and hopefully informing some, while adding witty commentary (or so he thinks) to keep things interesting.

Before

Previously, he worked as Technical Director of Rail Applications for CSX, a Class 1 railroad, leading teams building mission-critical software. He also spent an entreprenuerial decade building his own property development company as Founder and Director of Operations for Ward Investments, LLC prior to selling in 2013.

Before that

He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the Warrington College of Business – University of Florida and began his career working for Microsoft as an engineer in the early 2000s.
